It was not what you would expect to see going down a zip line – or anywhere else for that matter.

Mascots are in town the inaugural Okanagan Mascot Games and they paid a visit to the Oyama Zip Line Thursday afternoon.

On Friday evening, they will host a meet and mingle from 5 to 8 p.m. where people can collect autographs and have photos taken with their favourites.

Twelve mascots in all, many representing B.C. Hockey League (BCHL) hockey teams, will compete in a number of events on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kal Tire Place.

Host Vernon will be represented by Sniper, the mascot of the Vipers.

The mascots will compete in dance battles, lip sync battles, jousting tournaments, and an obstacle course – all while wearing mascot costumes.

Partial proceeds from ticket sales will be divided between B.C. Children's Hospital and JoeAnna's House (KGH Foundation) as will funds raised from the silent auction.

Tickets and more information are available online.
