A collision between a logging truck and a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer closed a stretch of Highway 16 east of Prince George for a matter of hours last week.
The crash occurred about midday Wed., Sept. 29 at a bend near the Longworth Access Road about 20 kilometres east of Purden Lake.
Reasons for the collision remain under investigation but, according to a witness, it appeared the vehicles sideswiped each other, causing the logging truck to spill its load across the highway.
Police said the collision led to serious injuries and confirmed that a horse died at the scene.
