Fort St. James RCMP were able to serve a warrant on a man described as "dangerous" thanks to help from the community.
RCMP stated that residents of Fort St. James have been providing information on the whereabouts of Darren A’huille over the past several weeks.
On Aug. 11, these tips culminated in the arrest of A’huille after locals provided information that he was seen entering a home in the community. With assistance from the residents at the location, A’huille was arrested without issue and remains in custody for a court appearance.
“The information the police received from the public led to the safe arrest of this wanted person and the RCMP would like to thank the community for their continued support,” said Staff. Sgt. James Potyok of the Fort St. James RCMP.
RCMP report that A’huille was well-known to them and possesses a lengthy criminal record requiring a large police presence during his arrest.
A’huille is also a subject of numerous other investigations in the local area and Fort St. James RCMP state that they expect additional charges to be added.
One of these investigations involves an armed robbery; police suspect A'huille was involved. They are currently asking for witnesses to come forward.
