Climber airlifted to hospital after taking a fall near this B.C. district

A climber has been airlifted to hospital after taking a fall in Cheakamus Canyon.

B.C. Emergency Health Services (EHS) spokesperson Pamela Gole said the patient was in serious but stable condition.

Two ground paramedics and an air ambulance rushed to the scene after authorities received a 911 call at around 3:15 p.m.

Squamish Search and Rescue was also called in.

As of now, there’s no word on the cause of the fall.

Cheakamus Canyon is a popular sport climbing area just north of the Big Orange Bridge.
