The wait is almost over for family and friends of four current and former students of Rutland Senior Secondary.

Keneisha Charles, Aaliyah Charles, Ashley Ciardullo, and Theresa Schwab will appear on tonight's episode of "Dragons' Den," during which they will pitch their plastics recycling company Operation Take Two.

They asked the dragons for $30,000 for 25 per cent of their company, which takes discarded plastics from the school, cleans them, sorts them and shreds them into small flakes.

The flakes are the raw material for new items they create using molds and an oven.

Since coming up with the idea two years ago, they have raised $32,000 in grants, donations, and in-kind donations.

"Operation Take Two is a youth-led social enterprise revolutionizing the global issue of waste by empowering communities to turn their trash into treasure. Not only do we reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill, we create a community hub for education and innovation and plan to multiply our impacts by using our profits to help youth in new communities start their own Take Two workspaces," the group said in a brief news release.

They are scheduled to meet with the media Friday morning (Nov. 8).
