New Westminster police have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect charged with stealing several guitars belonging to rock band 54-40.

Police say 39-year-old Yannick LePage will face charges of possession of stolen property in connection to the guitar thefts.

Seven vintage guitars valued at $50,000 were discovered missing on Oct. 5, shortly before the band performed two shows at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom.

Five of the guitars were recovered Oct. 7 at a Surrey storage locker, after New Westminster police executed a search warrant.

Two acoustic Gibson guitars belonging to the group have not yet been found.

“We are trying to find [LePage] to make an arrest in this case,” Sergeant Jeff Scott told Global News.

Members of the group behind the hits Ocean PearlBaby Ran, and I Go Blind live in Victoria, Esquimalt, Salt Spring Island and Vancouver.

They have earned eight Juno Award nominations during their 38-year career.
