Active COVID cases edge down in Northern Health

Active cases of COVID-19 in Northern stood at 28 on Wednesday, according to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, down one from the day before.

Two of them were in critical care. 

No new deaths were reported in B.C.

Looking at other health regions, Vancouver Coastal was home to 230 active cases, Fraser to 177, Interior to 163 and Vancouver Island to 15. In all, there were 624 active cases, including 11 from out of province.

As of Wednesday, 78.2% (3,631,452) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 38.2% (1,772,595) received their second dose. 

As of Wednesday, Northern Health has administered 246,684 doses, up 2,723 from the day before, and 160,039 were first doses and 86,645 were second.
The numbers do not include doses issued by the First Nations Health Authority.
