Police arrested a woman following a wild and dangerous drive through Prince George streets in a stolen pickup truck.

Prince George RCMP said the incident occurred on July 2 and began at the Parkwood  Place Mall when someone jumped into the truck, a newer-model Dodge Ram 1500, while it was still running and with the owner standing nearby.

The truck sped away, leaving the scene through an entry rather than an exit.

Police began roving patrols for the truck, and spotted the vehicle on Highway 16 near Ferry Avenue where it was seen weaving through traffic at a high speed.

The drive came to an end near Queensway Boulevard and Moyie Street a short time later when it collided with another vehicle.

The site remained closed for several hours to gather evidence and the woman, who police said was intoxicated, was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. The driver of the second vehicle escaped serious injury.

The woman, whose name was not provided, was released from police custody with a future court date and the file remains under investigation.
