Police are looking for witnesses after a Prince George church was vandalized yet again.

The words "Every Child M" were found spray-painted across the front doors of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 887 Patricia Blvd. early morning Wednesday.

Police believe the act took place sometime between 11 p.m. on Tuesday and 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

The incident, which was reported to police on Wednesday at 4 a.m., marks the seventh time trouble at the church has been reported by Prince George RCMP.

"It is an ongoing issue. It is not the first time,” said Father Rectorino Tolentino, of the vandalism. "This kind of thing is becoming usual here almost every other day I have to deal with something."

RCMP said patrols around local churches have been stepped up in the wake of a spree of mischief, much of which appears related to the discovery of 215 unmarked graves at the Kamloops Residential School in May.

Over the summer the Prince George RCMP have been investigating 10 reports of vandalism at local churches occurring throughout June and July which includes incidents at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

"I continue to ask for support by reporting any suspicious activity they may see around when they are passing by report it immediately to the RCMP so they can deal with it," added Tolentino.

RCMP are also asking anyone who might have information on the act or who has images from security cameras or dashcams to contact the detachment at 250-561-3300.
