Prince George RCMP seized a "large amount of suspected illicit drugs" from a home in the Lakewood neighbourhood.

What appeared to be cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine were uncovered when the detachment's street crew unit executed a search warrant on a 1300-block Eaglet Crescent home on Wed., Aug. 25.

Police also seized drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

Two people were arrested at the home - both familiar to investigators, police said.

One was released pending charge approval and the other was held for allegedly breaching court-ordered condtitons. Names of the two were not released.

"We see that drug trafficking is fuelling the property crime and violence and, most notably, an increase in firearm offences. The street crew unit continues to target those groups responsible for causing and perpetuating these issues, and remains committed to removing illegal firearms from our streets," said Sgt. Chad Chamberlain in a press release.
