On Monday city council will consider a rezoning 6285 Monterey Rd. W, to facilitate a new subdivision including a mix of single-family homes and duplexes.

MacDougall Developments Ltd. is seeking to rezone a 2.6-hectatre portion of the lot, located at the south end of Monterey Road West and Lehman Street, “to facilitate a single-family and two-unit housing development on the subject property. The remaining 4.2 hectares will remain (zoned as) AG: Greenbelt,” a public notice posted on the city’s website says.

MacDougall Developments is also seeking to reduce the minimum required setback between houses and duplexes on the lot from 4.5 metres (14.76 feet) to 2.4 M (7.87 feet).

The total number of planned units in the subdivision was not provided in the notice.

City council will consider the first two readings of the bylaw on Monday night.

A public hearing will not be held, prior to city council considering approving the first and second reading on the bylaw on Monday. However, residents can submit comments to be included for consideration by city council before noon on Monday.

Comments can be emailed to cityclerk@princegeorge.ca, by filling out an online comment form on the city’s website, faxed to 250-561-0183, or dropped off in person to the city’s corporate officer on the fifth floor of city hall.
