Wheatcroft scored his 40th goal of the season in Tuesday’s 6-0 win over the Vancouver Giants at CN Centre. His 84 points ranks third in the WHL scoring race, and his 21 power-play goals leads the league.
Wheatcroft joined the Cougars in an off-season trade from the Winnipeg ICE for a fourth-round draft pick.
