Chase Wheatcroft has been a frequent participant in the Prince George Cougars goal celebration train. The 20-year-old picked up 28 points as the WHL's player of the month in February.

The Prince George Cougars got hot in February and Chase Wheatcroft fueled their fire.

In 12 games last month, Wheatcroft scored 12 goals and had 16 assists and the Western Hockey League took notice, naming him the McSweeny's Player of the Month for February.

Wheatcroft, a 20-year-old native of Calgary, scored at least a point in 10 of those 12 games. He finished February with three straight multi-point games, collecting six goals and five assists..

The Cougars won 10 of their 12 games in February.

Wheatcroft scored his 40th goal of the season in Tuesday’s 6-0 win over the Vancouver Giants at CN Centre. His 84 points ranks third in the WHL scoring race, and his 21 power-play goals leads the league.

Wheatcroft joined the Cougars in an off-season trade from the Winnipeg ICE for a fourth-round draft pick.
