All-star guard Lorenn Cacares of the College Heights Cougars, left, shown in action at last year's triple-A zone tournament, scored 25 points Friday to help the Cougars to a 93-51 win over Robert Bateman at the triple-A provincial championship in Langley.

Despite an opening-round loss to No. 10 Argyle that knocked them out of title contention at the triple-A girls provincial high school basketball championship, the College Heights Cougars put that behind them and have gotten into a winning habit.

They reeled off their second-straight victory Friday in Langley,  hammering Robert Bateman 93-51. Rachel Loukes led the Cougars’ cause with 37 points, backed by a 25-point game from Lorenn Cacares.

The win puts College Heights into the ninth-10th-place game today at 12:45 p.m. against Clayton Heights.

Ranked No. 7 going in, the Cougars lost Wednesday’s opener 72-55 to Argyle, then beat Mark Isfeld 65-49 on Thursday.
