White Spruce City Chorus goes virtual

Even from a distance the White Spruce City Chorus can still hit the high notes. The local four-part harmony a cappella group has been in existence for 42 years and for the first time hosted a virtual rehearsal.

The White Spruce City Chorus goes online to practice their four-part a cappella harmony. This is the first time in their 42-year history they've done a virtual rehearsal.

Even from a distance the White Spruce City Chorus can still hit the high notes.

The local four-part harmony a cappella group has been in existence for 42 years and for the first time hosted a virtual rehearsal.

As many local artists have, these performers used Zoom to connect, said Danita Braun, the director of the chorus.

"Within the chorus we often talk about our need to be relational, 'building more than just songs'," Braun said in a news release. "We also discuss how music builds emotional strength and contributes to healing. These were all great reasons for the chorus to continue to 'meet' and sing, even if pandemic isolating left us between the confines of our laptop and the kitchen sink."

Their meeting motto was 'still in harmony... at home.'

They're going to do it again next week.
