Woman and her sheep delight walkers in Lake Country, B.C.

Sheep walker - Lake Country BC
A Lake Country, B.C. woman captured on a photo walking her sheep along a trail.

Hikers along the Pelmewash Parkway trail in Lake Country were treated to an unusual sight on Sunday (Jan. 3).

Wendy Innes-Shaw shared a photo to the Lake Country One Community Facebook page of a woman walking a sheep along the popular path between Oyama and Winfield, alongside Wood Lake.

"How wonderful it was meeting this lady walking her sheep yesterday on Pelmewash," Innes-Shaw wrote.

The woman's name is apparently Jan, and her wooly companion is Sheba, according to locals in the know.

The post immediately drew its share of sheep jokes.

"She's here for a good time, not a baaaaaaad time," wrote Tim Tish.

To which Vanessa Kopp replied: "Busting out those dad jokes."

"Ewe know it!" Tish responded.

Others shared that they also have come across the odd couple.

"We met this really cool lady on the rail trail with her sheep; she just sends out this vibe that you really want to spend time with her and as we continued on our way after a long chat, I felt like I was leaving a friend behind. I hope I run into her and her sheep again," wrote Sandi Randy.

"We loved meeting her yesterday on Pelmewash. Made this little toddler’s day," added Anne Stewart.
