The Hudson’s Hope RCMP say they received a report of an assault that occurred at the pullout near the Peace River Bridge on Nov. 29.
The complainant reported that one of their employees was driving a transport truck and stopped at the pullout to use the restroom.
While standing there, an unknown male approached the driver and punched him for unknown reasons, they added.
The unknown male then left the scene in an older blue Chevy pickup truck. The assailant has not been identified, noted police.
Unrelated to the assault, the Hudson’s Hope RCMP also say they received a report of a theft of trailer from a worksite along the Upper Cache Rd on Dec. 4. The trailer is a 2023 black Cana flat-deck, and the file remains open for investigation.
An ATV was also stolen sometime between Dec. 6 to 10, said the RCMP, taken from a property along Beryl Prairie Road. The ATV was a 2011 Polaris 850 Sportsman. The file remains open for investigation.
On Dec. 8, the Hudson’s Hope RCMP responded to a vehicle fire along Swanson Road, with a work truck catching fire to what was believed to be mechanical issues. The driver exited the truck with no injuries and the fire was safely extinguished.
