Police say alcohol and speed likely factors in fatal crash in Burnaby, B.C.

BURNABY, B.C. — An RCMP criminal collision investigation team is looking into a single vehicle crash that killed a young woman early Wednesday in Burnaby, B.C.

BURNABY, B.C. — An RCMP criminal collision investigation team is looking into a single vehicle crash that killed a young woman early Wednesday in Burnaby, B.C.

Police say in a news release that officers responding to the report of a crash found two women in the vehicle. 

The 20-year-old passenger died at the scene. 

Police say the 20-year-old driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

They say the driver of the vehicle struck a pole, causing significant damage to the car. 

Police say both alcohol and speed are believed to factors in the crash.
