Kamloops RCMP release photo of car involved in fatal hit-and-run

Kamloops Mounties say they are no longer looking for a silver sedan. Based on new surveillance footage, the suspect car is being described as a cobalt blue, four-door sedan with black rims. Police say the model is between 2010 and 2019.

Kamloops Mounties have released two images related to the death of a pedestrian early Saturday morning (Oct. 20).

The two images show a silver sedan driving down Seymour Street near Third Avenue. Police have identified the vehicle as a mid-2000 Dodge Neon SX 2.0. The images were taken from a surveillance camera shortly after a pedestrian was hit on Seymour Street.

The vehicle is the one that hit the pedestrian, according to a press release. The 48-year-old man was struck around 1:35 a.m. and found by a taxi driver. He died of his injuries later in hospital.

Police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the vehicle. Tips can be called into the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000. Anonymous tips can be left with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
