Fort St. John Home Hardware owners Doug and Shelley Gallinger were presented with the Janet Taylor Award during the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation's 'Be an Angel Gala,' recognizing the outstanding contributions made by their Home Hardware Centre.
The award is given every year to individuals, groups, or companies who exemplify unwavering dedication to volunteerism or philanthropy, distinguished by their commitment to providing time, expertise, or financial support to help the hospital foundation.
The Fort St. John Home Hardware has been a supporter of the foundation since 2000, explained a press release, with nearly $75,000 in donations raised through drives, charity barbeques, and hosting events like the foundation's 'Have a Heart Radiothon' held every June.
"This is one of our favourite fundraising groups to support. Their continuous support for our hospital and care home has helped many patients stay close to home and has helped their comfort. It also assists staff with their care," said Shelley Gallinger in the release.
“We are honoured to work with this amazing team and are thankful to our staff for always making them feel welcome and participating in the events," she added.
“We extend our sincerest thanks to Home Hardware Building Centre FSJ for their extraordinary dedication and generosity. Their unwavering support has significantly contributed to the betterment of healthcare services in our community," wrote Kelly Amboe, Executive Director for the foundation.
