$18.2 million has been released by the province, investing in arts and culture programs though Community Gaming Grants across BC.
In the northeast, the Fort St John North Peace Historical Society will receive $20,000, Stage North Theatre Society will receive $24,500, Dawson Creek Dawson Creek and District Band Association Community will be given $8,000, the South Peace Art Society was granted $50,900 and the Liard Regional Arts Council will receive $3,350 - a total of $106,750 for the Peace region.
Annually, Community Gaming Grants provide $140 million to non-profit organizations in B.C., supporting programs and services to meet the needs of their communities.
The province has also announced an additional $11.2 million in Community Gaming Grants for 1,300 school parent advisory councils and district parent advisory councils in B.C, including the North and South Peace, and the Northern Rockies.
