The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation is celebrating 30 years in 2024, and will mark the milestone year by releasing a series of 'Did you know?' facts on social media about the non-profit over the next twelve months.

"Over the past 30 years, many dedicated, and community minded individuals have left gifts in their will to the foundation. It is only with unwavering community support that the FSJ Hospital Foundation has been able to be a constant and continue to enhance the services provided here at the FSJ Hospital and in the community," wrote the foundation on Facebook.

The Fort St. John District Hospital Foundation was established in 1994, but later changed its name to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation.

Local farmer Archie Ferguson donated $150,000 to establish the foundation before his passing in 1993, they explained, which has raised $3 million in endowment funds and purchased $14 million dollars of much-needed medical equipment for the Northeast since 1999.

"The FSJ Hospital Foundation is honoured to share and celebrate this milestone with the community. Our beginning has a story that is driven by an individual who wanted to leave the world a better place," notes their post.

A 50/50 raffle fundraiser is being held by the foundation, with a goal of $10,000. Tickets will be available until March 15.
