It's been almost one year since 17 husky puppies and two adult dogs were rescued from a property in the province's Interior.
The pups were found living outside in the snow — shivering, lethargic and riddled with parasites. The owner gave up the dogs to animal control and they were turned over to the local BC SPCA branch on Christmas Eve. They were eventually all adopted out.
Today, the dogs are living their best life in their fur-ever homes.
In an update published on the BC SPCA's website on Nov. 30, the non-profit shares a number of photos of the huskies and a little description from their new family.
"Floki, originally named Inooka, was adopted by Louise Gillies and her family. According to Gillies, Floki was a Norwegian explorer who sailed to Iceland. 'He was also a jokester and so I thought the name suited him.' Floki lives with his big brother Bo in Logan Lake and are 'loved dearly' by his mom and dad. 'We’ve got three beds in our house but his favourite is the couch.'" reads one description.

Then there's Fiction (formerly Amka), adopted by Gabrielle Poon.
"She loves playing with her big brothers, Cricket (a Shiba Inu) and Facts (Siberian husky)."
Fiction has attended rally, obedience and agility classes, the write-up notes, and she's done remarkably well for such a young pup.
"She's eager to please and gets excited whenever she sees the training equipment pulled out," Poon says. "She is such a sweet little dog and has so much love to give. We're delighted to have Fiction as a member of our family!"
Koda (via BC SPCA)
Koda (previously Kallak), meanwhile, has transformed from a scared and nervous puppy to a "happy, loving, hilarious dog," according to owner Cassidy Lidstone.
"He has a big personality and provides me with no shortage of entertainment and laughs," she says.
