BC Highway Patrol says they located drugs, a firearm and ammunition, and counterfeit money in a Chevrolet Malibu that fled from police on Jan. 16.

They attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding and stunting, but the unidentified driver parked the vehicle in a Dawson Creek driveway and fled on foot. The Malibu was then impounded for seven days.

Police obtained a search warrant and found the following inside the Malibu:

  • A carbine with a loaded magazine
  • Hard body armour vest
  • Drugs believed to be Amphetamine, MDMA, and Fentanyl
  • $1,260 in counterfeit money

Anyone with information about the driver of the Malibu, or events related to the incident, can contact the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700 and refer to file 2024-301.
