A Prince George man faces seven charges under the Criminal Code in relation to a fatal rollover last year.

Dustin Allen Tisdale, 23, faces one count each of criminal negligence causing death,

driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08 causing death and failure or refusal to provide a breath sample while causing an accident resulting in death and two counts each of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08 in an accident causing bodily harm.

At the time of the March 12, 2016 crash, police said the driver lost control of the vehicle on Highway 97 and it flipped into the northbound ditch between Handlen Road and Austin Road, ejecting all four passengers, none of whom were wearing seatbelts. The driver was belted in.

Devin Barks, 21, was killed in the crash and three other people were sent to hospital.

Sara Willsie, Alyssa Marie Tyler and Riley Darrell Sindia have since filed civil lawsuits against Tisdale as well as Cody Furnell Ramsey.

In the claims, they allege Tisdale was pursuing Ramsey on Highway 97 when Ramsey slammed on his brakes causing Tisdale to swerve, lose control, go off the road and roll.

In a response to Willsie's claim, Ramsey said he was driving with reasonable care and claims Tisdale's actions were the cause.

Willsie suffered a spinal cord injury with paralysis as well as fractured hip and shoulder, while Tyler suffered fractures to her lumbar spine and clavicle and Sindia was left with a concussion among other injuries.

Tisdale is schedule to make a first appearance in court on April 26.
