Local man charged with first-degree murder

A Prince George man is among three who have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a man whose body was found in an isolated area north of Hope in the spring.

A Prince George man is among three who have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a man whose body was found in an isolated area north of Hope in the spring.

Joshua Albert Fleurant, 20, faces the count in the April 2017 death of Michael Bonin, 20, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said this week.

IHIT listed Bonin's hometown as Rycroft, Alta. but in a previous press release it said Bonin resided in Prince George.

Ryan Watt, 26, of Vancouver and Jared Jorgenson, 27, of Dawson Creek, were also charged with first-dgree murder, IHIT said.

Fleurant has a brief criminal record that includes theft of a motor vehicle, committed in Prince George. Bonin also had a criminal record that included a conviction for assault causing bodily harm, also committed in this city.
