The UNBC Timberwolves knocked off one of the juggernauts of U Sports Canada West men's soccer on the road last weekend, shutting out the the Victoria Vikes 2-0.
Tonight on home turf at Masich Place Stadium it might require a Herculean effort to defeat the Mount Royal University Cougars of Calgary. The Cougars are off to a superb start this season, owners of a perfect 5-0 record atop the Prairie Division.
The T-wolves (2-3-1) rank fifth in the Pacific and they're up for challenge after splitting their weekend series in Victoria.
"A massive win like that always feels amazing, said T-wolves midfielder Owen Stewart, who played his 50th game for UNBC last weekend. "To get three points against a very good Victoria side makes it incredible and I think it really gives this group a nice boost of confidence, which I anticipate will help us in the long run."
This is the only game of the weekend for UNBC. They play two games next weekend in Edmonton, visiting Alberta and MacEwan.
Game time tonight is 7 p.m.
