It’s time to start exploring.

Northern Routes Cultural Experience makes it easy. Launched in the summer of 2019, it’s a one-stop guide to the region’s historic and cultural resources.

The website invites you to be a tourist in your own town. It provides snapshots of 10 unique places that celebrate Northern BC’s arts, culture and heritage.

  • Two Rivers Gallery, Prince George: Featuring contemporary Canadian artists and emerging regional artists, it also has a hands-on studio (and a gift-laden store).
     
  • The Exploration Place Museum & Science Centre, Prince George: Discover Hodul’eh-a: A Place of Learning; meet live critters in the Biome; play underneath full-size dinosaurs, or take a fun ride on the Fort George Railway.
     
  • Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum, Prince George: All aboard the steam and electric locomotives, massive wooden snowplows, box cars, baggage cars, and cabooses.
     
  • Huble Homestead, Prince George: An early 20th-century homestead comes to life with a bustling farm, trading post, general store and First Nations fish camp.
     
  • Mackenzie Museum, Mackenzie: Follow the steps it took to instantly build a thriving town on the shores of Canada’s largest manmade lake.
