Watson-Brawn pulls the trigger for Spruce Kings

Dustin Manz added an empty-net goal to cinch the victory for the Kings, who began a three-game B.C. Hockey League roadtrip.
Ben Brar and Nick Poisson also scored for the Kings. Jared Power and Pito Walton were the Coquitlam goalscorers.
Logan Neaton made 21 saves to notch his team-record 28th victory in goal for Prince George. Clay Stevenson took the loss in the Express nets. The Kings outshot Coquitlam 33-23.
The win allowed the Spruce Kings (33-12-1-5) to keep pace with the Chilliwack Chiefs, who defeated the West Kelowna Warriors 2-1 Friday night in Chilliwack. Prince George remains seven points behind the Chiefs (39-12-1-0) in the race for first overall in the BCHL.
The Express (25-23-2-3) rank third in the Mainland Division, 17 points behind Prince George. If the playoffs began today they would face Prince George in the opening round.
The Spruce Kings will be back on the ice tonight (7:15 start) in Langley against a Rivermen team they beat 4-1 Monday night in Langley - the makeup date of a game postponed by a power failure Dec. 20. They will face the Surrey Eagles Sunday afternoon (4 p.m. start) on the Olympic-sized rink at South Surrey Arena.
Prince George returns to home ice next Thursday when coach Brandon West and the West Kelowna Warriors pay their annual visit to P.G. The Kings will finish their road schedule Feb. 17 in Chilliwack and Monday, Feb. 18 (Family Day) in Surrey, then host the Chilliwack Chiefs in a two-game set at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena Feb. 22-23 to wrap up the regular season.
