The final two games of the B.C. Major Midget League regular season schedule took place this past weekend with the league leading Okanagan Rockets taking on the Vancouver North East Chiefs on Saturday and Sunday. With a pair of Chiefs losses, the Cariboo Cougars would have started their playoffs on home ice at Kin 1. Unfortunately for the Cats, the Chiefs took both games on the weekend by scores of 4-0 and 4-3 to leapfrog both the Cougars and Fraser Valley Thunderbirds in the standings. The Chiefs wins moved the Cougars to 5th in the standings with 57 points putting them outside the top-four losing their chance at home-ice advantage.

With the regular season complete the matchups have been set and Cariboo Cougars will be starting the 2019-20 B.C. Major Midget League playoffs on the road with their first round opponent being the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds. The first game of the best-of-three series will take place on Friday, March 13 with puck drop scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Game two will take place on Saturday, March 14 with puck drop set for 7:00 p.m. Game three, if needed, will go Sunday, March 15 with a 12:30 p.m. puck drop. All three games will take place at the M.S.A. Arena in Abbotsford.
