A 17-year-old Prince George resident faces a charge of impaired driving causing bodily harm after the pickup truck she was driving collided with a power pole at the intersection of Highways 16 and 97 early Saturday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the single-vehicle accident at about 4:15 a.m. Saturday and found three occupants of the truck all with serious injuries, one of whom was in critical condition.

The Prince George RCMP municipal traffic services section is leading the investigation into the accident and is seeking witnesses. Anybody who might have information is asked to call the RCMP at 250-561-3300.

Part of the intersection was closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation but that has since been reopened. The RCMP wish to thank members of the public who stopped to lend their assistance at the scene, especially two off-duty nurses who provided initial medical care to the victims.
