Highway 16 has been reopened to single-lane alternating following a two-vehicle collision one kilometre east of Telkwa, according to a DriveBC posting.

Cpl. Mike Halskov of B.C. RCMP traffic services said details are limited but it appears to have involved a transport truck and a pickup truck. There were no injures and ambulance was declined, he said.

"At this time, it is a matter of clearing debris and waiting for vehicles to be towed," Halskov said. "Motorists are asked to obey the direction of any traffic control personnel at the scene."

The collision occurred near Woodmere Road and RCMP from the Smithers detachment were called to the scene at 12:20 p.m.

The stretch had been closed in both directions for a brief period.
