Update: Snowfall warning extended to Prince George and McGregor

Environment Canada has extended a heavy snowfall warning to cover Prince George and the McGregor region.

A Pacific storm will track across central B.C. tonight," the agency said in a bulletin issued Friday afternoon.

"Over Prince George and McGregor, rain is expected to change over to snow as temperatures dip below freezing this evening.

"The snow will then spread northeastward to Tumbler Ridge later tonight. Snow accumulations of 10 cm can be expected by Saturday morning."

A similar warning for the Lakes District region south and east of Burns Lake was issued Friday morning.

It called for 10-15 cm on Friday evening with the snow expected to taper off as the storm moves on.
