No financial aid for sports, poll respondents say

During the last online poll The Citizen asked "should the federal government offer special financial help to sports leagues like the B.C. and Western Hockey Leagues and others if they are not allowed to host games with fans because of COVID-19?"

The most popular answer was "no, they shouldn't get any special help other than what's being offered to other businesses," with 46 per cent and 548 votes. The next most popular answer was more of the same with "no, they should come up with their own alternatives to keep their businesses viable," with 35 per cent and 413 votes.

On the flip side was "yes, these businesses are important parts of our culture and communities," with 12 per cent and 145 votes, followed by "yes, these businesses also do important community outreach work that should be recognized," with six per cent and 73 votes.

There was a total of 1,179 votes. Remember, this is not a scientific poll.

Next question is "should Canada set a date to open the border to non-essential traffic to and from the United States?"
