Vanier Hall was transformed into 1950's era Rydell High School on Wednesday evening during the opening night of Prince George Secondary School's production of the 1978 hit movie Grease.

Three PGSS classes hit the stage bringing to life well known characters such as Rizzo and Frenchy from the Pink Ladies, and Kenickie and Sonny LaTieri from the T-Birds, as well as, the two lead characters Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson.

Danny Zuko is played by Tyra Dauvin while Natasha Castro and Emmanuelle Jacob will share the role of Sandy.

Music was also a big part of the production with students performing classic songs such as Summer Nights and Greased Lightning. Students sang their own vocals to the songs overtop a backing track from the movie's soundtrack.

Wednesday's presentation was the first of four shows with performances also taking place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening. Doors for the three remaining performances open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the shows are $15 and can be purchased during school hours at the PGSS office or can be bought at the door before show time.
