During today's sixth day of the trial into allegations Coun. Brian Skakun illegally leaked a confidential report, his former live-in lover, Coun. Debora Munoz, listed the reasons she didn't reveal his alleged confession to her.

She said an upcoming election, an ongoing investigation, fears voters would question her motives and fears of retaliation from Skakun kept her from saying Skakun was the source of Heller report leak.

Munoz made her comments as she continued to testify in the trial into whether or not Skakun leaked the report into allegations of wrongdoing at the RCMP detachment to the CBC.

The councillor is the Crown's star witness and on Wednesday testified that Skakun came to her in Sept. 2008 and confessed he gave the Heller report to the CBC.

Munoz has testified she confronted Skakun on Nov. 3 and asked him to confess to council about his role in the leak. She testified Thursday she met with then mayor Colin Kinsley and city manager Derek Bates on Nov. 7, eight days before the municipal election, and told the pair of Skakun`s September confession.

Both Skakun and Munoz won re-election. Kinsley did not run and was replaced by current mayor Dan Rogers.

Under cross examination by Skakun's lawyer Jon Duncan, Munoz was quizzed at length about her understanding of municipal politics and her role as councillor. She testified she never regarded Skakun as a competitor and never shared with him on whether or not she aspired to be mayor of Prince George.
