Households looking for a way to get rid of their excess paper and avoid being the victims of identity theft will have a place to turn to this Saturday.
That's when Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers will be hosting a drive-thru shred-it event at the Prince George Secondary School parking lot, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For a minimum donation of $5, unwanted documents will be run through a shredder provided by Shred-it Mobile Shredding Services.
And for another $5, you can enjoy a burger courtesy of a Mr. Mike’s community BBQ, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Proceeds go to Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers, which provides a hotline and an online portal for providing anonymous tips to help police solve crimes. Cash rewards are available for tips that lead to convictions.
