Construction on the new entrance to the Bob Harkins branch of the Prince George Public Library is progressing.

The Bob Harkins branch of the Prince George Public Library will be closed for the work week starting Mon., Oct. 28 as part of the construction of the new entrance and circulation area.

"Significant demolition work is scheduled for that time period, which will negatively affect the ability of Library staff to provide service to the public," the City of Prince George said in a notice.

Due dates for all items due to be brought back during that time will be extended by a week but they can also be dropped off at the book drop in the ground-level parkade.

The Nechako Branch in the Hart will be open that week except for Wed., Oct. 30.

Scheduled for completion in early 2020, the $4.36-million project will provide a new, multi-story entrance and an improved reception/circulation area.
