An Alberta man who was found in the cab of a stolen semi-truck pulling a flatbed trailer with a bulldozer on it was sentenced Thursday to a further 36 days in jail.

Darren Robert Kelly, 45, was sentenced on three counts of possession of stolen property.

He had remained in custody since he was arrested June 22, a total of 96.

Co-accused Grenville Clarke, 29, is to go to trial on the matter in March 2019 and also remains in custody.

Both reportedly from Edson, Alberta, the two were apprehended after Prince George RCMP were tipped off that the truck, stolen from Whitecourt, Alberta, was heading west on Highway 16 and nearing the city. It was pulled over on First Avenue and the two were arrested without incident.

The value of the truck, trailer and bulldozer were estimated at $500,000, RCMP said at the time.
