Partnering with the Prince George & District Community Arts Council is the Prince George Symphony Orchestra and Theatre NorthWest to present a gala evening of fine dining, live music, dancing and auctions to raise funds for local arts programs. The fundraiser will also provide support of the Prince George Arts Micro-Grant so local emerging artists can create short-term art projects.
"The availability and accessibility of arts and cultural activities is an important contributor to the the quality of life and social development of our community," Mayor Lyn Hall said. "I am proud to host the annual Black & White Ball in support of local arts organizations and the work they do in our community."
Title sponsor of the event is Canadian Tire whose owner Selen Alpay has offered support for the event for the last three years.
"We are thrilled to once again be a proud supporter of this event which is a core component of the various arts groups and performances that we support in Prince George," Alpay said.
"Canadian Tire believes that the arts have the power to unite communities and families and we are proud of the work we do to help Prince George thrive."
The Community Arts Council president Linda Rempel said this event has been incredibly successful in the past and she is looking forward to this year's amazing event.
This 2020 gala offers patrons a chance to dress in their finest attire, including roaring 20s garb to add some Great Gatsby flair.
"This event brings all of the arts community together to celebrate one another, celebrate the arts and to raise funds so we can continue our programs and to continue to reach out to Prince George to bring art into their every day lives," Rempel said.
