The high school basketball season is now underway and the D.P. Todd Trojans have home court advantage when they host an eight-team senior girls tournament this weekend.
The Duchess Park Condors, ranked third in the province among double-A teams, are heavily favoured to win it all. They took on Northside Christian North Stars of Vanderhoof in the tournament opener Friday afternoon.
The winner of that game advances to today's semifinal playoff at 11:30 a.m. against the winner of Friday's PGSS-Correlieu game.
On the other side of the draw, D.P. Todd took on Lake City of Williams Lake and Kelly Road played Cedars Christian. The winners of those two games meet in a semifinal today at 1:15 p.m.
The championship game is set for tonight at 8:15, preceded by the third-place game at 6:30 p.m.
