Jonathan Richards and Alex Childs were honoured as the top graduating members of the Prince George Youth Soccer Association on Saturday.
During a gathering at Rotary Fields, Richards was named Soccer Boy of the Year and Childs was recognized as Soccer Girl of the Year.
Richards, who was a goalkeeper for the Under-18 Kodiaks and now plays for the UNBC Timberwolves, picked up the Terry Wilson Memorial Trophy and a $500 cheque from the PGYSA.
Childs, attending Royal Military College in Kingston, Ont., on a soccer scholarship, was handed the John Da Silva Memorial Trophy and $500.
Other PGYSA award-winners were: Carly Shaw-MacLaren (senior referee of the year); Emily Blagdon and Samantha Wankling (co-recipients of junior referee of the year); Holly Rake (manager of the year); Rod Auld (volunteer of the year); and Rob Martin (president's award).
