Newfoundland stole two points in the 10th end to defeat Team BC's Patti Knezevic from Prince George 10-7 Thursday morning at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Knezevic held a 7-6 lead after eight ends but Newfoundland's Heather Strong scored two in the ninth end before getting two more in the tenth.

This morning's loss drops BC into last place with a record of one win and 9 losses.

The result comes with a penalty for next year's B.C. representative, which will be relegated to the qualification round of the 2016 national women's curling championship. In that play-in group, B.C. will be joined by teams from the Yukon and the Northwest Territories, which were eliminated in this year's qualifier. Nunavut will also be part of the qualification round if it enters a team.

Alberta's Val Sweeting leads the field at 8-0, closely followed by Manitoba's Jennifer Jones at 8-1.

The Knezevic rink plays its final game starting today at 5 p.m. PT against the Mary-Anne Arsenault squad from Nova Scotia that sits at 4-6.
