With three weeks and eight games left in the season, the Prince George Spruce Kings have a chance to climb the B.C. Hockey League standings.
They still have a shot at Chilliwack for first place in the Mainland Division but they'll have to extend their modest three-game winning streak this weekend, starting tonight with their game in Langley.
The Spruce Kings (25-20-0-5) are nine points behind the Chilliwack Chiefs and are four off the pace of the second-place Langley Rivermen. A win tonight would cut the gap to two.
On Saturday, the Spruce Kings will be in Duncan to take on the Cowichan Valley Capitals, who rank last in the Island Division (19-29-2-2). Then it will be off to Victoria to play the fourth-place Grizzlies (22-18-2-10).
The Kings will be road warriors again next week with games Thursday and Friday in Langley and Surrey and a Sunday, Feb. 22 date with Chilliwack. They wrap up the season at home against Langley, Feb. 27 and 28.
