Coquitlam Adanacs Dylan Watson had a goal and four assists but it wasn't enough as the Adanacs dropped the second straight game of their best-of-seven Western Lacrosse Association semifinal to the Nanaimo Timbermen, 12-9, Monday at Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo.

Brett Mcintyre scored four goals and added an assist, but it wasn’t enough as the Coquitlam Adanacs dropped the second game of their best-of-seven Western Lacrosse Association semifinal against the Nanaimo Timbermen, 12-9, Monday at Frank Crane Arena.

Two of McIntyre’s goals came in the third period as he sparked a furious run of three goals in less than three minutes that pulled the visitors to within two with 6:14 left to play in regulation time.

But that’s as close as Coquitlam got; Nanaimo’s Ethan Ticehurst scored into an empty net at 19:19 to seal the victory.

The teams were tied 3-3 at the end of the first period and the Adanacs actually took the lead for the first time in the series midway through the second on a goal by Dylan Watson that was set up by McIntyre.

But the Timbermen stormed back with three straight en route to an 8-6 advantage at the second intermission.

Watson added four assists to his single goal, and John Hofseth scored three times. Vinny Ricci had the remaining goal for Coquitlam which outshot the Timbermen, 51-49.

The Adanacs will try to get back into the series Wednesday, 7 p.m., at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex.

Adanacs named to all-star teams

Del Bianco had the league’s best save percentage, .842, and his 794 saves were tops of all goalies, as were his 12 wins.

Coquitlam’s Brett Draper was named to the second all-star team.
