Lakewood Dental Group to go through major renovation

Dentists practising at Lakewood Dental Group will be setting up shop at the College of New Caledonia (CNC) for the summer while their home goes through a major renovation starting near the end of this month.

Fire causes $1 million damage

A log dump pile in the Cariboo backcountry caused an estimated $1 million damage and Quesnel RCMP are looking for a culprit. The fire occurred last Thursday on Baezaeko Road near the community of Nazko.

Lots of forest fires in the region

Almost 20 forest fires sparked up in the northeastern region of the province over the weekend and all of them were caused by humans. According to Jillian Chimko of the Prince George Fire Centre, 18 fires got their start.

UNBC transit trips to stop for summer

Snowpack levels remain high

The snowpacks in the Upper Fraser and Nechako basins are at "levels of concern for increased flood risk," the provincial government's River Forecast Centre says in its latest update.

Railway museum admissions to go to Lakeland fund

The Prince George Public Library has won a marketing award for its television commercials. Chief Librarian Allan Wilson accepted an advocacy/marketing award presented by the B.C. Library Association at the annual provincial conference.

Man stabbed on Queensway

A 50-year-old man suffering stab wounds is in serious condition in hospital and another man is under arrest for the altercation. The incident happened at about 10 p.m. Saturday night at an apartment in the 1500 block of Queensway.
