And when will it open?

Sign up at Starbucks at 1816 Garibaldi Way.

**Update: As of Friday, Nov 25., this Starbucks is back open.

In need of a Blonde Vanilla Latte while driving south up the Sea to Sky Highway? Or one of those cake-on-a-stick thingies they sell?

(Officially called Cake Pops.)

Well, be sure to turn off at Cleveland Avenue to hit the first Starbucks in Squamish Station.

The second Starbucks in town, at 1816 Garibaldi Way, has been shuttered since Oct. 7 due to a fire.

According to Squamish Fire Rescue, crews were sent to the coffee shop at 5:45 a.m. that Saturday.

Four fire vehicles and 21 firefighters were on the scene.

"The fire was located within an appliance, was quickly extinguished, and damage was largely due to smoke and water," a spokesperson for Fire Rescue said in an emailed statement.

There were no reports of injuries at the time, and staff safely exited the building before the fire department got there.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The property was turned back over to the business the same day.

A spokesperson for Starbucks Coffee Canada said there is still no estimated reopening date.

The employees from this store continue to be relocated to neighbouring stores, said communications manager Leanna Rizzi.

"We apologize for any convenience to our customers and ask customers," she said.

"We hope to welcome the community back at 1816 Garibaldi Way in Squamish soon!"

In the meantime, if it is a Starbucks fix you are after, the 1200 Hunter Place location is operating business as usual.
