A man with a lengthy history of similar offences has been charged with attempting to steal a bike from a local shop.

Brandon Michael Felix, 29, remains in custody on one count of robbery from the August 17 incident in the 1600 block of Nicholson Street, according to court records.

Police made the arrest within a half hour of being called to the scene and credit descriptions from several witnesses for aiding them in the apprehension.

Felix has a long record of property-related crimes. In June, he was sentenced to one year probation for mischief $5,000 or under and three counts of theft $5,000 or under. He had been in custody for 29 days prior to sentencing.
