Charges have been approved against a seventh person believed to be responsible for the brutal assault and sexual assault of a male youth in Prince George last week.
On Jan. 12 Prince George RCMP located and arrested another youth thought to have been involved in the Jan. 7 assault and sexual assault of a male under the age of 18.
The 14-year-old male Prince George resident who cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been remanded in custody and is now facing the following charges: aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault and unlawful confinement.
Provincial Crown Counsel will be reviewing the file and may amend charges in the coming days.
Police do not believe this suspect was involved in the assault of the other victim. One victim remains in hospital.
The youth will appear in provincial court later today. All other suspects have been remanded in custody until Jan. 16.
"This investigation continues to be a priority for this detachment," said Prince George RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Craig Douglass. "We urge anyone that may have information, to please call the detachment."
