The Prince George Cougars will host their annual Teddy and Toque Toss game against the Kamloops Blazers on Dec. 17.

Fans are encouraged to bring donations of new or gently-used stuffed toys and warm winter clothes (coats, toques, socks, blankets and mittens) to the game. When the Cougars score their first goal, fans are invited to throw the items on the ice. The items will be collected by the Salvation Army and donated to families in need throughout northern B.C.

“To keep items dry and free from sticking to the ice, the Cougars request everyone put their items in a plastic bag, if possible, before tossing onto the ice,” a statement released by the Cougars on Friday said. “No matter where you sit in the CN Centre, you will be able to toss your items onto the ice as soon as the Cougars score. The end zone nets will be lifted immediately so everyone will have a clear path to toss their items onto the ice.”

Saturday’s game starts at 6 p.m. The Cougars will also be hosting the Blazers at CN Centre on Friday night, starting at 7 p.m.

“The Cougars and Blazers have been neck and neck all season –setting the stage for an exciting final two game clash before the Christmas break,” a statement released by the Cougars said.
