A virtual candlelight vigil for Trina Hunt, a 48-year-old Port Moody woman who went missing from her home on Heritage Mountain last Monday, will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

In a post on Facebook, a relative of Hunt’s asks people “to light a candle for Trina in your home,” then take a photo to post to their own social media accounts along with the hashtags: #comehometrina; #findtrinahunt; and #missingperson.

Hunt was last seen about 6 a.m. Monday morning and was reported missing when her husband returned to their home later that day to find it empty.

Since then, search efforts by Port Moody police and Coquitlam Search and Rescue have been supplemented by a massive community effort by friends, neighbours and volunteers just trying to help.

Thursday, police asked the ground search by volunteers be put on hold. But it continues virtually, with posters and flyers available to be printed out so they can be posted as far afield as Hope, Tsawwassen and Squamish.

Information and a photo of the missing woman are also being displayed on the new electronic billboards that were recently erected at the eastern and western borders of Port Moody.

Meanwhile, Port Moody police said in a statement “the investigation into the disappearance of Trina Hunt is active and ongoing. They said they’re particularly interested in acquiring any dashcam footage from drivers who may have been in the Heritage Mountain area on Monday, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. They’re also connecting with homeowners with security cameras on their property.

Hunt’s family added in a social media post that Tesla owners could be particularly helpful as each of the high-tech electric cars has a built-in dash camera.

Hunt is described as five feet four inches tall, and 120 pounds. She’s last believed to be wearing a puffy, black North Face jacket with a green collar and purple Cloudflyer shoes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should contact the non-emergency line at Port Moody police, 604-461-3456.
